Background

Dr Bríd Ní Ghráinne is a Senior Researcher at the Judicial Studies Institute, Masaryk University and the Institute of International Relations, Prague; and a Senior Research Affiliate and Lecturer at the Refugee Law Initiative, University of London. Since September 2020 she has been an Assistant Professor at Maynooth University, Ireland.

Dr Bríd Ní Ghráinne's research is in the field of Public International Law with a focus on Forced Migration and Human Rights. Her work has been published by leading journals such as Human Rights Law Review, International and Comparative Law Quarterly, Legal Studies, and International Journal of Refugee Law; and her monograph entitled 'Internally Displaced Persons and International Refugee Law' is forthcoming with Oxford University Press.

Previously, Bríd was a Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, a Legal Trainee at the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and has provided consultancy services to the UN, the Council of Europe, Greenpeace, and Oxford Analytica. Bríd holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford; an LLM (Public International Law) from Leiden University; a BCL (International) from NUI Galway; and diplomas in Legal French and Legal Irish from the Law Society of Ireland and NUI Galway, respectively.
