Starting at Taylor's, students progress to the University of Reading to complete their studies in Law.
The degree
Following one or two years at Taylors University studying Bachelor of Law, you can choose to transfer to part two or part three of LLB Law at the University of Reading.
After completing the programme, you will receive an award from the University of Reading.
The University of Reading was like a second home to me. The campus was very welcoming, providing me with opportunities to meet people and get to know students out of my course. This was a plus point for me as I was able to develop my social skills, not only with Malaysian students, but also with students from different countries.

Fees discount
Taylor's University students are entitled to a discount on the standard international tuition fees.
Entry requirements
To transfer to part 2:
- an average of 50% across all credits for which a numerical mark is awarded
- a pass in those subjects for which a numerical mark is not awarded
- an overall average of 40% in Part 1 examinations
To transfer to part 3:
- an average of 60% across all credits for which a numerical mark is awarded
- a pass in those subjects for which a numerical mark is not awarded
- an overall average of 50% in Part 1 examinations
English Language requirements:
IELTS 6.5 with no less than 5.5 in each band.
The campus grounds are surrounded by lots of green spaces and the beautiful Whiteknights Lake, which added to the beauty of the campus. I was blessed to be able to spend 2 years there, and by the end of my degree I grew to love the campus so much that I didn't want to leave as it provided me with experiences I doubt I would be able to find elsewhere!

The School of Law thrives on the lively academic environment developed from cross-cultural collaboration. Both our student and staff communities are made up of people from all around the globe.
We offer pre-arrival support, a specialised induction programme, dedicated library, careers sessions and law language teaching to all our international students.
Our team of advisers are available to offer support on issues such as money matters, visa queries, accommodation and even help with defining words which might be unfamiliar to you. You can also benefit from the Reading University International Mentoring Scheme, matching you with a current student mentor at the University.

Tell us a bit about your current role and responsibilities.
"Currently I do mostly conveyancing and corporate cases. Most of the time I gave legal opinions and consulting my clients, private company and listed company."
Why did you choose to study at the University of Reading?
"At first, I took a twinning programme at Taylor’s University in Malaysia, where there were a few choices for transfer. At last, I chose the University of Reading because of the university environment and the lecturers who are very experienced in teaching Law. Also, there are many modules to choose from at the University of Reading."
What did you like most about the University of Reading?
"First of all - the administration officers who are very kind and helpful. The study environment is very good."
Do you have any favourite memories of your time at the University of Reading?
"Yes – the day of the graduation ceremony. Everyone was so happy, and our family members were there too. I brought my family to visit the University so that I could share my memories from the whole year with them. So every day at the University was a favourite memory."
Do you have any tips or insights for students preparing to start their career journeys?
"Nothing is easy, so work hard but also have some time to relax."
