What you will study

Amanda Millmore, Associate Professor, explains how in the Children, Families and the State module you'll learn about the theory of law, as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of child protection. You'll also have the opportunity to take part in a mock case. 

Dr Andrea Miglionico, Associate Professor, discusses how you'll focus on the bank-customer relationship in the Banking Law module.

This includes learning how banks engage with customers in the UK and understanding UK legislation.

Professor Christine Riefa, Professor of Law, discusses how her research feeds into her teaching of consumer law, which examines consumer rights and protections including for electronic commerce.

She also describes the support you'll receive from your personal tutor during your studies.

Criminal Law is taught as a first-year core module in our School. Amanda Millmore discusses how students explore the different types of offences, as well as studying prosecution and defence.

In this module, you'll learn in large class lectures and small-group tutorials.

Professor Rosa Freedman, Professor of Law, Conflict and Global Development, shares some of the modules we offer that examine conflict and development in today's world.

These include a new module on the war in Ukraine, and our Gender and Law module.

Our Law of Tort module introduces you to the law of civil wrongs, including negligence, trespass, and nuisance.

In this module you have the opportunity to benefit from peer-assisted learning, where second and third-year students can support you in your studies.

Dr Stanislava Nedeva, Lecturer in Law, discusses EU Law, a second-year core module as well as an optional third-year module.

In this module you'll study the institutions that created the European Union and the relationship between EU law and international law.
