Employee Engagement Survey 2025
Our Employee Engagement Survey of all staff returns this year, giving you the chance to share your honest views about working at Reading and what you think could be improved.
This is the first full staff survey since 2020, so it will provide some valuable information to inform action plans to make the University a better place to work for everyone.
It is being run on our new UoR View survey platform, which we will use to gather colleague feedback more regularly in the years ahead.
About the survey
The survey will contain just over 50 questions on themes including your role, sense of purpose, personal and career development, wellbeing and inclusion.
It is your opportunity to anonymously provide open and honest feedback on what you feel is, and isn’t, working at Reading and how well your needs are being met.
We have contracted independent company People Insight to conduct this survey for the University. People Insight are hugely experienced in running this type of survey and many other universities use its survey services.
Its online platform – which we have named UoR View – will provide efficient, independent analysis of survey responses to identify issues and common themes, allowing us to formulate action plans at institutional and School/Directorate level to respond to them.
We will also use this platform to run more frequent ‘pulse surveys’, to gather feedback on certain projects or issues over the coming years.
What to expect next
The survey ran from 4-25 February 2025.
Now the survey is closed, the University will receive a report of survey data in March 2025, at which point we will conduct our own review and begin to develop action plans. We will share the key findings of the survey with all staff from April onwards, as well as our plans to address some of the issues identified. Local action planning will be led at School/Directorate level and their plans shared with their teams directly. A full summary of the survey responses and action taken or planned will be published later in the year, with examples also shared of where improvements have been made as a result.
