Industry-relevant learning

Our course has been developed in collaboration with our industry partners to ensure a curriculum that is responsive to twenty-first century challenges.

Develop the skills and knowledge valued by employers and benefit from our network and established connections with local, national and international architects.

Diverse team of experts

Learn from and with our experienced team of staff – specialist design tutors, including academics and practitioners – who are internationally-recognised for their research and design practice.

Unusually, our entire team contributes to studio teaching and to lecture-based modules. This stimulates discussion, constantly demonstrating the cross-currents of thinking and action between design, histories, theories, technologies and professional opportunities that are essential for socially-valuable architecture.

Dynamic learning environment

Drawing, making and discussing ideas are areas where architecture students have traditionally benefitted enormously from working together, through the week, between formally delivered sessions, in dedicated personal spaces in studios and workshop spaces. At Reading, we very much support and provide for this practice and experience. This is also preparation for the studio-like working environment of architect’s offices and a valuable social experience.

Watch Master of Architecture students undertake a field class to study architecture in the context of the real world and examine the role of architecture through a cultural, social, commercial and environmental lens.

Scholarships and funding

Students enrolling on our MArch in 2025, who hold a first-class honours degree, have the opportunity to secure a scholarship worth £1,000 for each of the two years of the course. Subject to conditions for 2025 entry.

We also offer an Alumni discount, which is applied as 20% reduction in annual tuition fees.
