With the main purpose to enhance participants’ understandings of student guidance and support in British universities, the course also introduces participants to British higher education history, funding mechanisms, governance, and expectations of the student experience. Through reflective and interactive discussions within the programme and in a broader context, participants will enhance leadership skills with a widened global outlook and intercultural experiences to grapple with an increasingly complex world.

A standard three-month course consists of the following aspects:

  • a series of talks from UK university professionals on the topics listed in the table
  • visits to university facilities, other UK universities, and places of interest
  • language and culture development
  • reflective and independent study
  • Q&A and forum
  • social and cultural events.
