Nowcasting the Risks of Wildfire

Theodore’s work focusses on developing a probabilistic model for the wildfire hazard. He is currently developing a prototype model for the contiguous United States of America, with scope for this to be applied in a global model. His fire risk modelling approach is differentiated by accounting for fine-scale variability across time and space in addition to larger-scale geospatial trends. He has interests in the effects of human, meteorological and ecological factors on wildfire risk, and in the quantification of near-term climate impacts.
